Hueytown residents raise yard maintenance, speeding and wrecker‑bid questions during public comment

Rick Pittman said grass next door on Allison Bonnett Memorial Drive is overgrown. David Barr asked when the city will issue the wrecker towing bid. Terry Headley reported ongoing speeding on his road and that a telephone pole was down in his yard. Holly Garren thanked the city’s code enforcement officer for working with neighbors to maintain a yard. Eric Frye, who said he was recently elected Commander of American Legion Post 1228, thanked the council for its support and announced a fundraiser organized by Black Family Restaurants for May 23–25 with 10% of sales to benefit the legion.
Council members Jacks and Zinnerman later thanked Patrick Sellers for his representation and participation in city events. The council did not take immediate formal action in response to the individual public comments recorded in the minutes.
