The Vernon County Finance Committee on Jan. 16 approved several routine finance items: it authorized taking funds from the Treasurer’s 2019 budget to pay taxes on reclaimed properties, approved the Treasurer’s report, renewed the county’s audit contract and authorized payment of the monthly bills.
Rachel Hanson reported on outstanding taxes related to reclaimed properties; the committee approved a motion (Ofte/Larson) to use 2019 Treasurer’s budget funds to pay those taxes and then approved the Treasurer’s report (motion by Amelse, 2nd by Leis).
The committee later approved renewal of the county’s audit contract (motion by Larson, 2nd by Leis) and, after reconvening from recess, voted to pay for the Executive Committee meeting and to authorize payment of the monthly bills (motion by Amelse, 2nd by Leis). The minutes record these votes as carried but provide limited roll-call detail for some motions.
