Christiana Dollhausen, reporting for Diane McGinnis, updated the Vernon County Finance Committee on a range of grant activities tied to flood recovery and local projects.
Dollhausen said DNR grants through Dec. 31, 2019 are in closeout with expected accounts receivable of about $437,000; three FEMA/DNR buyouts tied to earlier flood events total $629,248 with two buyouts closed and one demolition complete and funds to be drawn in January 2020. The CDBG-EAP flood program includes a $3,165,716 allocation; a De Soto public facility road-repair project of $600,000 is listed as complete with a final invoice pending. The minutes also record closed buyouts and an accounts-receivable figure of $197,010.45 for one CDBG-related buyout closed Jan. 15, 2020.
Staff described ongoing assistance to towns for FEMA applications, an EDA grant application in partnership with the City of Viroqua, and other grants including a Snowflake Ski Jump grant and a Drug Court grant with an approved budget amendment/extension in process. The minutes note procurement of an appraiser and contract work underway related to buyouts and project closeouts.
