The Special Magistrate’s docket on Aug. 20 included several routine yet enforceable orders requiring property owners to correct nuisance and lot-clearing violations across Fort Pierce.
Notable orders and deadlines included: - CE2025-244 (911 Atlantic Avenue): Magistrate granted 30 days for compliance (cut grass, trim trees/shrubs, remove debris and landscape refuse, post visible house numbers, remove window coverings) and warned a $100-per-day fine for continued violations after the deadline. Harlan Broom, who said he was speaking for his mother Lowette Broom, requested time to coordinate repairs and cleaning; the magistrate expressed sympathy and granted 30 days. - CE2025-254 (1107 Hemlock Circle): Magistrate found outstanding items and ordered seven days to cure remaining violations or face $100-per-day fines. - CE2025-332 (3107 Atlantic Avenue): Magistrate ordered seven days to correct landscaping, remove debris and improper containers, and remedy fence and storage issues or face $100-per-day fines. - LTCL2025-120, LTCL2025-135, LTCL2025-136 (lot clearing cases including 3101 Louisiana Avenue and 1835/1839 Sandridge Road): Magistrate ordered seven to 14 days (depending on the property) to address lot-clearing and nuisance conditions and warned the city may abate and assess costs to the property if violations persist.
Clerk and staff then read a long list of additional lot-clearing and nonoperative vehicle cases to be handled in future proceedings and described notice and posting procedures required under state statute 162.12. The hearing was adjourned after the docket was completed.
