Three Rivers commission approves airport easement, sets FY27 budget schedule and appoints three to Cemetery Board

At‑Large Commissioner Lucas Allen moved to accept the attached MDOT agreement for an airport easement and sponsor certifications and to authorize Public Services Director Amy Roth to sign and submit required documents; Second District Commissioner Steven Haigh seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The minutes do not specify terms of the easement beyond the acceptance of the agreement and authorization for staff to execute documents.
Commissioners also approved the FY2027 budget schedule. Third District Commissioner Anthony Stanfill moved to approve the schedule, including a special meeting on May 12 at 6 p.m. for presentation of the proposed budget and setting the required public hearing and consideration of adoption at the regular meeting on June 2 at 6 p.m.; Fourth District Commissioner Carolyn McNary seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The consent agenda — including invoice approvals, acceptance of a Public Safety Academy Assistance (PSAA) Program grant, and multiple board minutes — was approved by motion. Commissioners appointed Brooke Carpenter, Bret Mayer and Theresa Williams to the Cemetery Board for terms expiring March 1, 2028. The minutes record that First District Commissioner Pat Dane left the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
The commission also met in closed session from 7:16 p.m. to 7:44 p.m. to discuss an attorney opinion; the minutes state no decisions were made. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
