Colorado County Commissioners on Oct. 27 set the canvass date for the Nov. 4 constitutional amendment election, approved requests to use the courthouse grounds for holiday events, and accepted month‑end financial reports and accounts payable.
Judge Ty Prause moved to set Nov. 10, 2025 as the date to canvass the Nov. 4 Constitutional Amendment election; the motion passed unanimously. The court approved requests from the Columbus Chamber of Commerce to hold the Lighted Christmas Parade on the courthouse grounds on Dec. 2, 2025 (6–9 p.m.) and Ladies Night Out on Dec. 3–4, 2025 (set‑up and event); both motions passed 5–0.
The court received and approved the County Auditor’s Financial Report for September 2025 and the County Investment Officer’s September report. County Auditor Michelle Lowrance noted that expenditures for many departments were at about 75% of budget. County Treasurer Joyce Guthmann reported total cash and other assets of $21,927,256.77 for the month; the county recorded $86,337.80 in interest income for September and reported September sales‑tax receipts of $179,594.27. The minutes also show the court examined and approved accounts payable packets and pending expense reports covering multiple departments.
