Power Superintendent Shane Ward told the Council the transformer from Wesco has an estimated lead time of about 2.5 years and is needed now to meet project timelines; Ward said funding will come from power impact fees and billing will occur in phases during procurement. The Council voted to approve Requisition #042601 and authorized the purchase.
Ward also presented Requisition #042602 for lighting at the Veterans Memorial from Diamond Mountain Marketing for $15,619.31; the council approved using funds from the Veterans Memorial budget with a contribution from the Power Department.
Finance Director Dave Oxman presented a request to purchase a Recreation Center printer for up to $8,000; the Council deferred that purchase to the next meeting to evaluate additional options. A $10,400 requisition to Sunrise Engineering (presented by Britanny Adams) failed on a split vote.
The Council was told that transformer allocations may be adjusted once equipment arrives depending on project needs; no change to impact-fee policy was proposed during the meeting.
Next steps: the transformer procurement will proceed with multi-phase billing; staff will return with additional procurement options for the Recreation Center printer.
