DeWitt County Commissioners on Feb. 23 appointed Clint Dillion and Susana Weber to the DeWitt County Historical Commission for the remainder of the 2025–2026 term.
Commissioner Ryan Varela reported on ongoing restoration work at the DeWitt County Historical Museum, noting that the contractor Komatsu has addressed punch-list items but that small gaps remain in replaced window sashes; the county will provide weather stripping as a remedy. Varela said the museum has requested a written agreement to clarify responsibilities between the museum and the county.
The court also received construction drawing plans for a concrete foundation for the Letter from the Alamo monument and received letters from the Woodman Cemetery Association and the Texas Historical Commission regarding cemetery condition and requests for assistance.
Motions relating to the appointments and receipt of drawings and correspondence carried unanimously. The minutes record no public controversy on these items; specific funding or construction schedules were not included in the minutes.
