Dickens County Commissioners approve appointments, grants and several contracts

Dickens County Commissioners handled a slate of routine business on Dec. 8, 2025, approving an appointment, grants, contracts and purchases in unanimous votes.
Commissioner Chris Horn moved to approve Robert Earl Van Meter as the county’s representative to the Dickens County Appraisal District Board; Commissioner Greg Arnold seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The court also approved a resolution authorizing the Home Delivered Meal Grant Program for 2026 on a motion by Commissioner Dennis Wyatt, seconded by Commissioner Chris Horn.
The court approved a Joint Primary Election Services Contract with the Dickens County Elections Officer and both political parties, purchased LGS Jury software for the Clerk’s Office, and approved a lighting agreement with Excel Energy Group Inc. All motions recorded in the minutes passed unanimously. The court received a petition seeking formation of a Chapter 501 Economic Development Corporation and approved payment of claims and Historical Commission bills; no line-item transfers or budget amendments were made.
During public comment, Clay Post, president of Cross View Christian Camp, discussed upcoming changes and events at the camp. Adam Walker of PBFCM presented the annual collections report for the Tax and JP offices. The court recessed at 10:35 A.M. and reconvened at 10:50 A.M., and adjourned at 11:59 A.M.
