Colorado County Commissioners on Nov. 24 authorized repair and renovation of the Opportunity Center building in Altair to provide space for the county’s Offices of Emergency Management.
Chief operations presenter Chuck Rogers told the court the Offices of Emergency Management will move from the services building to the Opportunity Center and that grant money is available to fund the repairs. Commissioner Ryan Brandt moved to authorize the work; Commissioner Darrell Gertson seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes identify the authorization as preliminary direction to begin repairs; staff will proceed with project planning and use identified grant funds. No contract award or construction schedule is recorded in the minutes; the action authorizes staff to begin work and pursue the renovation under available grant funding.
