Three Rivers commission approves budget amendment, sets hearings on licensing and special uses

The Three Rivers City Commission on April 21 unanimously adopted a fiscal-year 2025–26 budget amendment and advanced two ordinance changes to first reading or public hearing during a regularly scheduled meeting at City Hall.
Commissioners approved the budget amendment on a motion by At-Large Commissioner Lucas Allen, seconded by Second District Commissioner Steven Haigh. The motion authorized the Director of Finance & Administration to amend the budget “as stated within this report.” No roll-call tallies were recorded in the minutes; the motion was recorded as carried unanimously.
The commission also voted to accept draft amendments to Chapter 5 (General Licensing, Registration and Permits) for first reading with a modification to set operating hours at 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. and to set a public hearing for May 5. At-Large Commissioner Lucas Allen made the motion; Fourth District Commissioner Carolyn McNary seconded. Commissioners carried that motion unanimously.
Separately, the commission accepted a draft ordinance amendment on recurrent special uses for first reading and scheduled a public hearing; that motion, made by At-Large Commissioner Lucas Allen and seconded by At-Large Commissioner Torrey Brown, also passed unanimously.
Mayor Angel Johnston commented that she was pleased with the changes occurring in city processes and activities.
