Hamilton County Commissioners Court approves consent agenda, interlocal fire agreements and FEMA special budget

Hamilton County Commissioners Court met Nov. 25, 2025, and approved several routine and financial items, including the consent agenda, two interlocal agreements with volunteer fire departments and a special budget to accept FEMA public assistance grant DR-4781.
The meeting opened at 9:00 a.m. with County Judge James Yates calling the session to order and a quorum present: Commissioners Johnny Wagner, Keith Curry and David Ogle. Commissioner Wagner led the invocation and the pledges. There were no public open comments and no budget adjustments (L.I.T.) on the agenda.
On the consent agenda, the court approved minutes from Nov. 12, 2025; departmental reports; two expense registers in the amounts of $145,904.74 and $150.00; and payroll totaling $90,395.76. The consent agenda also included a building-and-use request from the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce for a Christmas parade and vendors on Nov. 29, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Commissioner Johnny Wagner moved to approve the consent agenda; Commissioner Keith Curry seconded. The court approved the motion 3–0 with Judge James Yates abstaining.
Personnel updates presented as information included a new hire for the Sheriff's Department, Auston Rose, and three resignations in the Sheriff's Department: Courtney Renfro, Quinten Sells and Ronald Schmidt.
Sheriff Boulton told the court that new patrol cars "should be arriving within the next week or two," and said the vehicles will need to be outfitted before being placed into service.
The court considered Interlocal Agreements with the Pottsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Star Volunteer Fire Department and approved both agreements after a motion by Commissioner Wagner and a second by Commissioner Curry. That approval passed 3–0 with Judge Yates abstaining.
Commissioner David Ogle moved and Commissioner Johnny Wagner seconded a resolution to adopt a special budget to accept unanticipated FEMA public assistance grant revenue for DR-4781. The court approved the special budget 3–0 with Judge Yates abstaining.
