Hamilton County approves budget corrections, consent agenda and generator maintenance contract; judge abstains

County Judge James Yates and the Hamilton County Commissioners met March 10. The court approved a L.I.T. budget adjustment that transferred $300 from 010-499-4250 (Schools & Conferences) to 010-499-3100 (Supplies) for the Tax Assessor/Collector’s Office and corrected a $50 GL allocation from 010-560-4590 (Sheriff’s Department) to 010-510-4590 (Courthouse Security/Annex). Commissioner Johnny Wagner made the motion to approve the budget adjustments and Commissioner Keith Curry seconded. The court recorded the motion as approved 3-0 with Judge Yates abstaining.
The consent agenda, approved on the same vote, included the Feb. 24, 2026 minutes, departmental reports, payroll of $77,029.13, expenses totaling $220,599.14, in-between bills of $19,057.83, and a culvert application with listed precinct road items. Commissioner Wagner moved to approve the consent agenda; Commissioner Curry seconded and the court approved it 3-0 (Judge Yates abstained).
Separately, the court accepted a maintenance agreement with Hunter Generator Service, LLC to provide maintenance on three county generators (each tower location and an older generator). Commissioner Wagner moved to accept the contract; Commissioner David Ogle seconded. The contract was approved 3-0 with Judge Yates recorded as abstaining.
No ordinance, ordinance numbering, or formal policy change was adopted in the meeting. Each of the recorded votes showed three commissioners voting yes (Wagner, Curry, Ogle) and Judge Yates abstaining. The court adjourned at 9:26 a.m.
