Hamilton County commissioners approve budget adjustments, consent agenda and routine motions

Hamilton County Commissioners Court approved a package of budget adjustments, routine consent items and administrative ratifications during its April 28 regular session.

On motions grouped under the local option items (L.I.T.), the court approved transfers including $25,902.19 within auditor lines to reflect a new finance director, $10,000 moved from Precinct 3 contingency to repairs, and $250 moved to non-departmental refunds to release bonds. Commissioner Johnny Wagner moved approval; Commissioner Keith Curry seconded. The motion passed with four yes votes; County Judge James Yates abstained.

The consent agenda — which included approval of minutes (April 10 and 14), departmental reports, payroll of $78,651.49, expenses of $73,118.32, in-between bills of $985.57, a culvert application for Precinct 3 (CR133), and several building/use requests including the HISD prom and an Octoberfest booking for Pecan Creek Outfitters — was approved on a motion by Commissioner Dicky Clary, seconded by Commissioner David Ogle. The vote was 4–0 with Judge Yates abstaining.

The court also ratified the assignment of finance contract #11025 (motor grader for Precinct Four) from Government Capital to the Commercial Bank of Mason, accepted an updated list of county bank accounts and signatories, and approved communications payroll and position adjustments. Those motions followed similar mover/second patterns and each passed with a 4–0 vote while Judge Yates abstained.

All votes recorded on the floor show four commissioners voting yes and Judge Yates abstaining; no hands were recorded as voting no or abstaining other than the judge on the listed items. No ordinances or long-term policy changes were enacted during this session.
