Hamilton County Commissioners approve budget correction, consent agenda and ratify three agreements

The court approved a budget adjustment to move $134.63 from account 010-562-4400 (Communications Towers at Park Road) to 010-560-4400 (Sheriff's Department). Commissioner Dickie Clary moved the correction and Commissioner Keith Curry seconded; the motion passed 4-0 with Judge Yates recorded as abstaining.
The consent agenda was approved as presented and included minutes from Jan. 13, 2026; departmental reports; payroll of $79,616.39; in-between bills of $4,809.50; expenses of $169,670.73; and purchase of Sheriff's vehicles totaling $204,855.00. The consent package also noted a culvert item for Precinct Four and bonds for Charles Cline in the Sheriff's Department. Commissioner Clary moved the consent agenda and Commissioner Curry seconded; the motion passed 4-0 with Judge Yates abstaining.
The court ratified an agreement with Engie North America to serve as the county's electric provider from March 1, 2026, through Feb. 28, 2029, at a rate of $0.07813 per kilowatt-hour. Commissioner Clary moved to ratify the contract and Commissioner Curry seconded; the motion passed 4-0 with Judge Yates abstaining.
Commissioner Johnny Wagner moved, and Commissioner David Ogle seconded, a resolution supporting legislation to improve county road infrastructure and safety; the court approved the resolution 4-0 with Judge Yates abstaining. The court also approved the list of election judges for the Joint Primary Election set for March 3, 2026; Commissioner Clary moved, Commissioner Wagner seconded, and the motion passed with the same 4-0 recorded vote and Judge Yates abstaining.
