The Concordia Parish Police Jury voted unanimously March 9 to approve routine business including appointments, licenses and operational work orders during its regular meeting in Vidalia.
The Jury appointed Robet Walker and John Brixey to four-year terms as members of Recreation District #3 after a motion by Member Kale Davis, seconded by Member Kenny Simpson. The panel also accepted the resignation of Devonte Schiele from the Central Louisiana Human Services District Board on a motion by Genesia Allen seconded by Davis.
Licenses approved included a peddler's license for GMAC Catering, LLC and an occupational license for Washington Construction; later in the meeting the Jury approved an occupational license for Delta Breeze, LLC in Vidalia. All license motions carried unanimously.
The Jury authorized citations for alleged ordinance violations at identified properties. The minutes list 149 Skipper Drive (described as "overwhelming dogs") and properties described as "Corner of Guido & Mooselodge" with cars and junk on the road and 532 Stephens Rd for junk and equipment. The minutes record the action as directed citations; no responses from property owners are recorded in the minutes.
Jurors submitted several superintendent work orders for road and cleanup operations. Examples approved by the Jury include: requesting the limb truck for Hwy 568; gravel for 286 Harbor Rd to address bus and waste-truck turnarounds; and a boom truck for debris at 347 Hammett.
