Commission to contract Couch Excavation for Road and Bridge oil work; no bid required

The McDonald County Commission reported on Sept. 30 that it had contacted Couch Excavation in Cassville to contract an oil distributor truck and driver to finish a Road and Bridge oiling project. Commissioners said the work is estimated to be below the county's formal bid threshold and therefore will not be put out for competitive bid.
Presiding Commissioner Bryan Hall, Eastern Commissioner Jamey Cope and Western Commissioner Rick Lett discussed the procurement during the meeting. The minutes note the county will hire Couch Excavation to supply equipment and an operator; the record does not include a contract number, dollar amount or a recorded motion or vote tally.
The commission adjourned and scheduled a reconvening on Oct. 2, 2024. The minutes for the Sept. 30 meeting were signed and recorded (Book PP pg. 487).
