On Jan. 31, 2024, residents Stella Anthony, Liam Anthony, Rhonda Tucker and Tim Tucker met with the McDonald County Commission to raise maintenance problems on a portion of Ittner Road.
Presiding Commissioner Bryan Hall, Eastern Commissioner Jamey Cope and Western Commissioner Rick Lett heard the residents’ concerns. The commission explained that the segment in question is not a county-maintained road and that the county could not correct the issues raised. The commissioners advised the residents to seek other guidance on how to proceed.
County Clerk Kimberly Bell and other officeholders were present for the discussion but the minutes do not record a motion, a staff direction, or a follow-up assignment from the commission regarding the road. The record does not identify who maintains the disputed portion of Ittner Road or whether property owners, a township, or a state agency might have responsibility.
The minutes list the next officeholder meeting as scheduled for Feb. 28, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.; the commission’s signatures also note the board will reconvene on Feb. 5, 2024. The minutes were approved and entered in the county record (Book PP, pg. 433).
