Jacob Esparza and Steve Simmons met with the McDonald County Commission at its Aug. 28 meeting to request that the county adopt and maintain the entrance road to Woodhaven Estates, the minutes state.
Eastern Commissioner Jamey Cope told Esparza and Simmons that McDonald County was not currently adopting any subdivision roads because of the workload and budget constraints facing the County Road & Bridge Department. Cope said he would discuss the homeowners' request with the other commissioners but the minutes record no formal motion, vote or adoption of the road.
The minutes list the three commissioners and the county clerk as present; they do not record a formal vote or a timetable for follow-up. The Commission was recorded as adjourning and set to reconvene Sept. 2, 2024, at which point the request could reappear on the agenda.
