Tippecanoe County commissioners cleared a package of routine and administrative items during the May 18 meeting, approving minutes and several departmental requests in a series of voice votes.
Approvals on the consent agenda included minutes from the May 4 meeting, county claims (05/06/2026–05/18/2026) and payroll dated 05/08/2026. County IT staff sought and received approval to renew a three-year Esri agreement to continue shared GIS services; Cindy (speaker 6) said the interlocal arrangement will let other entities join under a common umbrella and yield cost savings.
In personnel actions, a youth-services representative (speaker 7) asked to eliminate a case manager (PAT 2) position at Cary Home and create a youth development supervisor (PAT 3), stating there would be no net increase to the current budget. The board approved that reorganization. Stacy (speaker 8) requested elimination of one RN (PAT 4) position at the county hospitals and creation of a medical assistant (PAT 2), citing RN shortages and an estimated $22,000 in savings; the board approved the change.
The board also accepted a parcel from the Mark Fisher estate (the discussion referenced $4,193 in the transcript) and granted the WIC department permission to apply to the Indiana Department of Health for 2027 funds to cover annual expenses and salaries.
All consent motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting.
Provenance: approvals and department presentations appear in transcript segments from the consent-item start (SEG 010) through the final consent votes (about SEG 239).
