Norton council approves multiple ordinances, including road resurfacing and storm‑sewer mapping

Ordinance 55‑20‑26 — 90‑day moratorium on data‑center zoning: Adopted with readings waived and an emergency declaration; the planning commission will revise the draft language. (Vote: 7–0)
Ordinance 52‑20‑26 — Yoder Roofing agreement for Berry House roof replacement, $20,970: Council waived the third reading after members said the roof is currently leaking and adopted the ordinance. (Vote: 7–0)
Ordinance 42‑20‑26 — Amendment to records commission section of codified ordinances: Adopted on third reading. (Vote: 7–0)
Ordinance 45‑20‑26 — Contract with Northstar Asphalt not to exceed $1,209,861.40 for resurfacing Greenwich Road: Staff said roughly $700,000 will come from grants and approximately $665,000 is the local share; the ordinance and related amended engineering agreement were adopted. (Vote: 7–0)
Ordinance 46‑20‑26 — Agreement with GPD Group for GIS storm‑sewer mapping, not to exceed $39,500: Council noted the work continues an EPA/MS4‑required mapping program and adopted the ordinance. (Vote: 7–0)
Amended Ordinance 48‑20‑26 — Agreement with Environmental Design Group (EDG) for engineering and inspections on Greenwich Road project, not to exceed $98,313: Adopted to fund inspections and engineering oversight. (Vote: 7–0)
Each ordinance will be implemented by the responsible department according to the contracts and project schedules presented in staff materials.
