Springfield, May 20, 2025 — The Effingham County area transportation committee elected new leadership and approved routine business during its meeting on May 20.
Damon Rahn moved to elect Mona Underwood as chair of the committee; Ben Johnson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Matt Morris then moved to elect Ben Johnson as vice chairman; Mona Underwood seconded and that motion also passed unanimously.
The meeting opened at 9:43 a.m. and the agenda was approved (motion by Mona Underwood, second by Matt Morris). The committee also approved the March 18, 2025 minutes (motion by Matt Morris, second by Mona Underwood). The meeting was adjourned at 10:29 a.m. on a motion by Mona Underwood, seconded by Tommy Blewett.
The leadership changes take effect immediately; the committee did not vote on project funding or TIP changes during this session.
