Wilmington council previews major contracts, $32.95M housing financing and bridge grant on upcoming agenda

The mayor told the Wilmington City Council that at its next meeting the council will consider several consent items and public hearings, including multiple contracts, grant acceptances and a proposed multifamily housing financing.
On the consent agenda the mayor listed: • C1: a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into an agreement with Hazen and Sawyer PC for hydraulic modeling professional services for $116,900. • C2: a resolution authorizing a three-year agreement with SHI International Corporation for renewal of the Microsoft Enterprise agreement in an amount not to exceed $2,000,000. • C3: a resolution authorizing the city manager to execute a contract amendment of $1,860,000 to New Pipe LLC for the annual needed stormwater infrastructure repairs and rehabilitation contract. • C4: a resolution authorizing the Hammerhead Soccer Club to serve alcoholic beverages at an event at Encina Sports Park. • C5: a resolution providing approval for a multifamily housing facility in the city and financing with multifamily housing revenue bonds in an amount not to exceed $32,950,000. • C6: approval of the minutes for the regular council meeting of 05/04/2026.
The mayor also previewed public hearings (PH1) on proposed fiscal-year 2026–27 appropriations to the general fund, capital projects and enterprise funds, and PH1(c), a proposed amendment to the City of Wilmington fee schedule for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026. The mayor noted Ordinance O1, an amendment to Wilmington City Code section 8-5 concerning criminal history and credit background checks for applicants and employees, was continued from the May 4 meeting.
The agenda includes acceptance of a state grant for replacement of the Lions Bridge in Greenfield Park and a supplemental appropriation of $500,000 associated with that grant. The mayor read the items for council information; no votes were taken during the session.
The meeting adjourned after the presentation and brief questions from council.
