Councilors asked brief clarifying questions; Signoli explained that contractors and salt costs — both driven by an unusually heavy season — were the primary causes. The council then approved the request by roll-call vote.
The transfer closes the department’s FY25 deficit for snow-and-ice operations; DPW officials said the move will allow payment of prior-season costs without further budget amendments at this meeting.
