Warner Robins honors firefighters’ long partnership with Muscular Dystrophy Association; 2024 local total $53,665

The Warner Robins City Council paused its agenda for a presentation by the Warner Robins Fire Department and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Deputy Chief Chief Mok said firefighters have partnered with MDA for decades, noting the department began its partnership in 1989 and that the community has raised more than $3.5 million over roughly 35 years. MDA representative Bridget Monroe thanked the department and community and described programs including summer camp, family weekends and a scholarship program launched in 2024 to help young people transitioning from camp to college.
Bridget Monroe shared a two-minute video and personal stories about families whose lives were affected by advances in care and FDA approvals for treatments. She said the city and firefighters’ fundraising made a measurable difference to families and to access to programs and research. Monroe reported the Warner Robins community raised $53,665 for MDA in 2024.
Mayor Patrick and council members thanked the fire department and MDA for the community service and fundraising efforts.
