Imlay City superintendent names new Weston principal and accepts several resignations

Superintendent Dr. Stu Cameron used the April 26 meeting to announce leadership and personnel changes at Imlay City Community Schools.
Cameron recognized Weston Elementary Principal Jenny Buhl-Hagey, who will retire at the end of this school year after 27 years of service, and introduced Elizabeth Gallagher as the board-recommended incoming Weston Elementary Principal effective at the start of the 2026–27 school year. The board voted unanimously to offer Gallagher an employment contract for the role.
The board accepted additional resignations and retirements: Trevor Kaeding, Technology Director (effective April 17, 2026); Tricia Scrimger Bellinger, Speech Pathologist (retirement); and Yaquelin Soria, Weston Teacher (one year of service). Borland Elementary Principal Megan Cottone also recognized Borland teacher Nick Bara for performing the Heimlich maneuver to save a student.
These actions were presented during the meeting's introductions and personnel agenda items and were recorded in the approved minutes.
