The Imlay City Board of Education voted unanimously April 26 to sell the Venture High School property to Piece by Piece Autism Therapy of Lexington, Michigan, for $545,000. The board also authorized President Sharon Muir and Superintendent Dr. Stu Cameron to sign the deed and all required sale documents.
The motion to approve the sale was moved by Trustee Greg Dennis and carried with Ayes from Muir, Van Dyk, Dennis, Wolford and Zelenak and no Nays. The board followed that action with a separate authorization allowing the president and superintendent to execute closing paperwork.
Board members did not record deliberation beyond the motion in the minutes. The sale was presented as a board action item on the meeting agenda and approved as part of regular business. The board also separately authorized up to $5,000 for roof repairs at the Venture High School property, on a unanimous vote, to address identified damage before or after closing as needed.
The board approved the minutes from this meeting on May 18, 2026; the deed-signing authorization allows the district to complete the transaction with the buyer once closing terms are finalized.
