Cedar Fort approves Preferred Paving bid and new signs for West Haven Road

Cedar Fort's council approved road-repair work and sign installation at its May 4 meeting, voting to accept a preferred paving bid and to install five new traffic-control signs on West Haven Road.
Council reviewed a bid from Preferred Paving for multiple patching and repair jobs across town, including areas adjacent to the rec center and a collapsed pothole where commercial traffic has repeatedly damaged pavement. The chair said the council could approve up to $19,700 for the work and that Geneva Rock had offered to repair one culvert or provide material in trade for some work.
"I make a motion that we approve the bid from Preferred Paving, not to exceed 19,700, and we'll instruct him to allow the West Canyon Road," S2 said. The motion passed on a council vote.
Council also approved Bimetal Construction to install five signs on West Haven Road to improve traffic control and to reinforce any new commercial-vehicle restrictions the council later adopts. Members asked staff to confirm whether sign posts and installation materials were included and to coordinate with public works for installation.
Council members asked staff to pursue a separate bid or an additional estimate to replace a damaged culvert used by the school bus and to verify whether Geneva Rock would provide culvert assistance at no cost before committing additional funds.
