District leadership presented the PACE strategic-plan status and goal ratings at the April 27 board meeting, describing the board-staff timeline for stakeholder input and goal approval.
The district administrator told the board, "This is our strategic plan... PACE, people, achievement, community, and environment." Staff described the monitoring cycle: monthly checks, an extended-cabinet self-evaluation, and a process to collect board input at the May meeting followed by principal-level synthesis in mid-May. Staff said they expect to return final goals for formal approval in August.
On ratings, staff said two goals earned green (portrait of a graduate and AI stakeholder committees); several academic and multiyear goals were marked yellow. The administrator said district reading results improved by 6.4% and that the district has reduced chronic absenteeism by 19% over the reporting period. On math, staff reported a 3.3% increase but noted the spring testing window remains open.
Staff announced an honors-diploma-plus-associate-degree pathway in partnership with Blackhawk College and said an early-childhood apprenticeship remains under development. The district also described planned professional development, including a "Capturing Kids' Hearts" session for administrators on June 5 and rollout of a new digital learning platform and blended-teaching model.
Board members praised the action tracker and requested continued clear, quantitative updates. Staff said they will share the action tracker and timeline documents with trustees for further review.
The presentation was informational; the board did not take formal action on the strategic-plan ratings during the April 27 meeting, but staff outlined a series of next steps for summer and fall implementation.
