Council confirms appointments, names mayor pro tem and Equity Commission liaison

The Saint Charles City Council approved a slate of appointments and reappointments to city boards and commissions and made two leadership designations during the meeting.
Mayor Clint Hall asked appointees present to stand and identify which boards they would serve on; the mayor thanked volunteers and noted the positions are unpaid. The council then voted to confirm the appointments and reappointments.
Separately, the council approved a motion to name Alderman (Ron) Sakaitis as mayor pro tem for 2026–27. The council also approved Alderman Ryan Bongard as the city liaison to the Equity and Inclusion Commission; both actions were made by motion, seconded and carried on roll call.
Council members thanked the appointees for their willingness to serve. No salary was associated with the volunteer positions; the council encouraged appointees to proceed with their service on the designated commissions.
