Board renews JAG memorandum and Kentucky Educational Development Corporation membership

The board approved two consent items related to outside partnerships and services. Members voted to renew the JAG memorandum of understanding for 2026'27 and to continue the district's membership with the Kentucky Educational Development Corporation (KEDC) at the recommended cost.
Administration said JAG Kentucky provides about $40,000 in reimbursement for the high school JAG instructor; Nathan estimated the district's net cost after that reimbursement would be about $36,000. "I think that all in for that teaching position...after the $40,000, the district spends around $36,000 on that," Nathan said.
The board also considered a one-year renewal with KEDC, which the superintendent recommended for networking, professional development and limited services. The annual cost noted in the packet was $3,328.42.
Both items were taken as part of the consent agenda and approved by voice vote. The JAG renewal was presented with the caveat the MOU includes details on funding and duties that the board reviewed in the packet.
Next steps: the administration will execute the MOU with JAG Kentucky and continue the KEDC membership for the 2026'27 year.
