Council confirms police promotions and appointments

Mayor transmitted the promotion and described Rodriguez’s background, including his service and education. The council moved, seconded and approved the promotion unanimously. Sergeant Rodriguez addressed the council and thanked the mayor’s office, human resources and the police department for the promotion and pledged to continue professional leadership.
The council also approved the appointment of Kevin Manning as a certified police officer. Manning said he brings prior NYPD experience and thanked the mayor and department leadership for the opportunity.
Both personnel actions were approved by voice vote with no recorded dissent. Personnel files and the full appointment/promotion documents are on file with the legislative assistance office.
