The Streator City Council voted Jan. 7 to approve two budgeted public‑safety purchases.
Resolution 2025‑013 authorizes purchase of a used 2025 Ford Bronco Sport to replace the community service vehicle used for paperwork transport, parades and outreach. The police department spokesperson said the vehicle had nearly 200,000 miles and that the replacement was budgeted at $30,000; the speaker added the purchase should come in at “a little lower 25,000 and change.” The council moved and approved the resolution by roll call.
Council also approved Resolution 2026‑004 to purchase 11 Getac CF‑31 rugged laptops and nine docking stations to replace aging Panasonic units that are no longer supported. Staff said the equipment was included in the budget and expected to last four to five years. The motion passed on a roll call vote.
Clerk roll‑call entries recorded ayes for the motions during each vote (see official minutes for the complete vote ledger).
