The Llano City Council approved a lease agreement to expand the Llano River Golf Course cart fleet to 42 vehicles after staff recommended Club Car as the more suitable and cost-effective vendor.
Dane, who spoke to council about the golf course operations, said the course currently operates with 35 carts and that weekends often produce a gap in available carts that forces the course to block tee times. "We think by adding 7 parts, that's gonna help alleviate some of that issue," Dane said, explaining the rationale for moving to a 42‑cart proposal. He also recommended Club Car, saying, "my recommendation is to go with Club Car" because Club Car's bid was cheaper and included a carry‑all accessory the Yamaha quote did not provide.
Council members discussed the effect on tournament operations and rental cart needs; one member noted that larger events would benefit from the added fleet and reduce the number of rental carts the course must bring in. A motion to approve the Club Car lease was made, seconded, and carried with no opposing votes recorded.
The council did not specify the exact contract price in the meeting; staff said the packet included comparative quotes and a corrected Yamaha proposal submitted the same day. Council thanked Dane for the presentation and moved to the next agenda item.
