Principal Anne and the district athletic director provided year-end updates at the May 18 meeting, outlining graduation activities, awards events and postseason athletic schedules.
Principal Anne described end-of-year events including a sixth-grade Wolf Ridge trip, monthly planning for graduation, an Eagles Academy showcase, a senior breakfast and graduation rehearsal, and a graduation ceremony scheduled for Saturday; she also said Montessori crossover events are set for June 4 and that end-of-year AGR reporting will appear on the next meeting agenda.
The athletic director reviewed postseason details: track conference championships, regional and sectional meets in late May and early June, softball’s current record and a top seed that resulted in a double-bye to the sectional championship, and baseball’s conference standing and postseason dates. The athletic director noted that six of the conference’s 10 schools plan to adopt the Bound ticketing package for events.
“We’ve got a couple of runners that will certainly compete at the regional and sectional that they move on to the state meet,” the athletic director said while summarizing postseason play.
The board also discussed scheduling for awards events, with members weighing daytime events that better accommodate students against evening events that allow more parents to attend. The district will proceed with the announced schedule and finalize logistics for graduation and awards.
