Council also approved purchasing a JLG articulated boom lift from Bullseye Equipment and Surplus (Moncks Corner) for $74,566.66 to address safety and OSHA concerns for elevated work.
The council approved a three‑year fire‑hose testing contract (staff cited $21,780 for 2027 with an estimated $23,100 in 2028) and authorized the administrator to execute the agreement. Chief Wells said the testing is annual maintenance and recommended consolidating the three‑year commitment in the FY26/27 budget lines.
The meeting also authorized acquisition of a replacement training classroom (mobile unit) at a total cost of about $140,600. Staff requested carrying forward $88,000 from the FY26 budget and including $52,600 in the FY27 budget; council approved the purchase and the planned carry-forward treatment as part of budget processing.
All procurement items were approved by council motions during the meeting; the clerk recorded the outcomes by voice vote.
