Solon Springs board approves Bound ticketing platform, opts for paid 'Pro' option

The Solon Springs School District board voted to adopt the Bound ticketing and athletic-management platform and approved purchasing the paid “Pro” option during its May 18 meeting.

Board members discussed fees and implementation details before the vote. The athletic director said Bound provides two card readers and that the platform charges a $0.90 surcharge for tickets under $10 and “$0.90 plus 5%” for higher-priced tickets; several conference schools have already agreed to use the service while others have not decided. The board emphasized that staff and coaches will need time and training to learn the new system.

“Two readers are provided,” the athletic director said, adding that the district will still need to learn the system and may request a Bound representative to demonstrate equipment and processes for staff.

Chair opened the motion to approve the platform with the paid option and the motion passed on a voice vote. The board did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript.

The board’s approval includes implementation steps: acquiring the provided readers, coordinating training for staff, and monitoring ticketing fee impacts for events. The athletic director noted the district could continue offering alternate ticketing options and that the platform’s facility-management features are an added benefit for districts that purchase the Pro package.
