The Sunbury City Board of Zoning Appeals handled routine board business at its May 18 meeting, electing leadership and approving prior minutes before adjourning.
A board member nominated Kurt Shrewsbury for chair and another member seconded the nomination; the board approved the motion by recorded ayes. The board then nominated Rentz for vice chair and approved that motion by recorded ayes.
During the meeting a member identified two typographical corrections to the April 20, 2026 minutes. Staff said it would make the edits and the board approved the amended minutes by voice vote. The board confirmed its next meeting date as June 16, 2026, and adjourned at approximately 05:47.
These procedural actions were unanimous and are recorded in the meeting minutes; they do not change any substantive land‑use approvals beyond authorizing the variance to proceed to Planning & Zoning Commission in the Walnut Ridge matter.
