Kossuth County approves resolution to allow payroll-timing payments during switch to biweekly payroll

Supervisor Kyle Stecker moved to adopt the resolution and Supervisor Howard Haas seconded. Chair Carter Nath called a roll-call vote; the transcript records all five supervisors voting yes and the motion carried.
The resolution says the additional disbursement results from payroll timing only and is not an increase in salary or wage rates. It directs the County Auditor and other county officials to take steps necessary to implement the conversion and to process payroll consistent with the new schedule. The resolution took effect immediately upon passage.
The change affects salaried employees in departments identified by the County Auditor, including the Engineer’s Office and the Information Technology Department, according to the text of the resolution recorded in the minutes. The board recorded that these payments are intended to avoid disruption to employee compensation administration while the payroll frequency changes.
