York City police and the York County district attorney said at a joint press briefing that investigators have secured multiple arrest warrants — now under seal — and are actively seeking juvenile suspects in the fatal shooting of a 15‑year‑old at Penn Park. Police Commissioner Michael Muldrow said investigators used cameras and persistent canvassing to develop leads and that the department is pressing to deliver accountability for the victim’s family.
"The technology, the cameras, yes, made things much easier to reach a certain level of closure," Muldrow said, praising investigative work and community cooperation. Detective Commander Baez told reporters the department is "in the process of moving forward with an arrest" while stressing that investigators are limited in what they may disclose during an active case.
Captain Dan Lentz described an allied law‑enforcement operation launched after recent homicides that produced multiple arrests and seizures: "The operation resulted in 7 felony, 20 misdemeanor, and 73 summary arrests," he said, and noted two arrests for outstanding warrants, 36 traffic citations and the seizure of eight illegally operated dirt bikes. The operation included assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police, York County Probation and York City School Police, Lentz added.
District Attorney Tim Barker confirmed there are "multiple arrest warrants" and said the individuals charged are juveniles. Barker explained that, for procedural reasons, some arrest warrants are sealed while investigators and prosecutors protect the integrity of ongoing work. "When the appropriate thresholds met for disclosure, then the sealing of the warrant will be lifted," he said, describing the standard process his office follows in sensitive cases.
Officials declined to provide detailed ages, motive or a precise number of suspects while the case remains under active investigation, saying more specifics will be released when legal thresholds for public disclosure are met. Muldrow said the investigation identified areas of interest around the Penn Park basketball court and nearby streets, including Lindbergh and Lafayette, and that increased foot patrols and vehicle presence remain in place.
The briefing closed with repeated appeals for community cooperation and support for victims’ families. Officials said the department will continue to use available surveillance, canvassing and prosecutorial tools as they pursue arrests and potential prosecutions.
