The ordinance was approved following a brief public hearing opened by motion of Supervisor Cupples and closed by Supervisor Talsma. Supervisor Cupples moved to approve Ordinance 51B; Supervisor Talsma seconded the motion. The board, chaired by Thad Nearmyer, recorded unanimous approval (Nearmyer, Talsma, Cupples).
Separately, the board adopted Resolution 26-29 to approve pay and fees for Medical Examiners, investigators and transportation of human remains; the resolution sets the fees effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Supervisor Talsma moved adoption of the resolution and Supervisor Cupples seconded; the vote was unanimous.
