Marshall County approves warrants, per diems and authorizes sale of retiring officer’s revolver

The Marshall County Board of Commissioners on May 19 approved payment of county warrants and modest per diems and authorized the sale of a retiring officer’s service revolver to that officer, subject to the sheriff setting a fair price.
Under Resolution 05-19-01 the board authorized Auditor warrants of $12,873.32 and Commissioner warrants of $429,096.50. The board also approved Resolution 05-19-02 establishing per diems totaling $375.00 (Gary Kiesow $300; Domita Mack $75). Both measures passed by unanimous procedural votes recorded as M/S/C (motion, second, carried) during the meeting.
The meeting record shows the board authorized, on recommendation of Sheriff Jason Boman and Jail Administrator Mark Ellerbusch, the sale of a retiring officer’s revolver to that officer so long as the sheriff approves the transfer and sets a fair price (motion passed M/S/C Duckstad/Nybladh, 5-0). The board also approved other finance-related items during the session, including case actions and bills of $192,265.10 reported later in the agenda.
Auditor-Treasurer Scott Peters provided additional finance-related updates later in the meeting, including a tax-collection status reported at 81.62% of total collections and a brief investments update. The board recorded the approvals as part of its regular consent and financial business during the session. The meeting adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
