The board voted to continue a contract for speech, occupational and physical therapy with Clearly Speaking at an hourly rate of $116.80 when Medicaid does not cover services. A board member noted a potential conflict of interest for one member; the transcript records that Caleb would abstain from that vote, and the board proceeded with approval.
On technology, staff recommended purchasing 80 Chromebooks using ESA (enhanced student achievement) funds; the recommended vendor was Viva City at $47,180. The staff member explained the rationale favored this vendor even though it was not the lowest bid. The board approved the purchase, with staff noting 40 of the devices would stay with students.
Personnel actions followed an executive session. The board then approved hiring Alexandria Irvine as an elementary paraprofessional, three summer workers (Mason Whitby, Bryson Weymier and Eli Norton) for custodial/maintenance/IT duties and Talise Harper as the McCoy Elementary third‑grade summer‑school teacher.
