Board highlights student achievements and unveils second quality profile; new high school reported on‑budget and on schedule
Summary
The superintendent presented the district’s second quality profile, recognized dozens of students for All‑State and other honors, and reported the new high school construction is enclosed, on budget and on time.
At the May 19 meeting the superintendent presented the district’s second edition quality profile as a broader measure of Bowling Green City Schools’ strengths beyond the state report card, which the superintendent noted as a single indicator. The profile highlights academics, arts, student leadership, stewardship, parent/community involvement and student services.
The board recognized multiple students and staff across music, band, DECA, theater, FFA and Model UN. Andy Lewis and other instructors highlighted All‑State orchestra, choir and band selections; DECA and FFA advisors announced state placements; Model UN officers were honored for awards at multi‑state and international conferences. The superintendent also recognized staff including paraprofessional Sarah McGill and communications director Jennifer Campos, who received an Ohio Public Relations Association honor.
The superintendent provided a construction update for the new high school, saying the project is becoming enclosed, roofing and sheathing are being installed, and the project remains on budget and on schedule. The district listed 240 graduates eligible to receive diplomas at commencement on 05/24/2026.
These recognitions were presented largely as ceremonial items and were not tied to separate motions or votes beyond acceptance of the graduates list and the gifts that the board later approved.
