The Barr-Reeve Community Schools Inc board on May 20 approved a set of partnership and service agreements the superintendent said are intended to keep programs and campus operations running into the 2026–27 school year.
Antioch Bible Church: Superintendent Andrea presented a one-year agreement to formalize bus turnaround access and use of church grounds for soccer. The contract includes specified fees for maintenance and facility use: for bus operations the district will provide four loads of gravel (budgeted at $2,000), pay $1,500 for minor bus-area upkeep and a $1,500 property-use fee (totaling $5,000 annually); for the soccer portion the district will provide three loads of gravel ($1,500), contribute $400 toward dumpster service and pay a $3,600 property-use fee (totaling $5,500 annually). Andrea said the one-year term will allow both parties to evaluate the arrangement before negotiating a longer-term agreement. The board approved the agreement by voice vote.
Youth First MOU: The board approved renewing the Youth First memorandum of understanding for the 2026–27 school year to continue district access to a Youth First social worker (Leah Lotus). The district contribution will increase by about 3%, from $45,500 to $46,865. Andrea said Youth First will continue to fundraise to cover the remainder of the service costs and that payments will be made via ACH on the 15th of each month.
SRO memorandum: Andrea presented the school resource officer (SRO) MOU with the Davies County Sheriff's Department, noting no changes to the agreement and praising the work of Officer Myers, who the superintendent said received an SRO-of-the-year award from the INSROA executive board. The board approved the SRO MOU.
Food services: The board accepted the recommended food-service vendors and bid categories through the district’s K–12 cooperative purchasing arrangement; Andrea noted the only change from the prior year was adding a beverage delivery option from Keurig Dr Pepper.
All recommended agreements were approved by voice votes. Andrea and trustees framed the actions as routine renewals and operational steps to ensure services are available when school resumes next year.
Provenance: details of the Antioch fees and one-year agreement were described during the Antioch agenda item; Youth First and SRO MOUs and the food-service vendors were each presented and approved later in the packet.
