Hamilton Community Schools’ board approved several operational items: summer school teacher hires, a separate motion to authorize the summer lunch program, and routine consent-agenda items including personnel and donations.
The superintendent described summer school as a three-week, Monday–Thursday program beginning the second week of June, with breakfast served 8:30–9 a.m. and lunch 11:30 a.m.–noon; the superintendent said meals will be free for anyone 18 and under in the Hamilton community if consumed on-site. The board approved summer school teacher appointments by motion and separately approved the summer lunch program.
On the consent agenda the board approved the hire of Magnus Hill as a technology assistant (he is currently a student and expected to work with the ICE program next year), accepted retirements (including Michelle Van Wy), and recorded donations to student accounts and programs. The consent motion passed by voice vote with a recorded tally of 3-0.
Administrators noted K-camp and other summer offerings: an iRead week, high-school summer coursework, and a kindergarten readiness camp taught in partnership with the literacy coalition. Board members asked clarifying questions about hours and participation; administrators said details will be communicated to families.
