Superintendent (S1) described a restructured contract with 5 Star Technology Solutions narrowed to network support at $3,000 per month on a three-year term beginning July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029; the board approved the contract by voice vote (motion carries 4-0).
On facilities, the board approved a not-to-exceed authorization to install a concrete sidewalk to serve an employee daycare entrance at the primary school so an on-site daycare can operate more safely; the request presented different quote figures in discussion (the superintendent initially referenced a quote "a little over $10,000" but the recorded motion authorized a lower not-to-exceed figure during the meeting). Administrators said they will solicit three competitive quotes and proceed with the lowest responsive bid.
Administrators also updated the board on wind-related roof damage, including concerns over repairs proposed by a manufacturer for an EPDM roof above the pool. The superintendent said the district and its roofing consultant (Brendan Baker, Moisture Management) have pressed the manufacturer Carlisle for a more robust repair approach and will return with recommendations and bids in June. The district noted potential warranty and insurance complications.
On programming, staff reported progress on the district's Brewing Beginnings daycare license, used-equipment purchases, anticipated initial enrollment of 5–10 children (possibly up to 12 per regulatory room limits with required staff ratios), and a Community Foundation grant application to offset startup costs.
The board approved the contract and concrete authorization and asked staff to return with roofing remediation options and final daycare budget figures at the next meeting.
