Superintendent (S1) thanked the parent for bringing the concern forward and offered to set a meeting to review case details. "Let me reach out to Lane and get an opportunity for you to come in so I can get right into what some of your concerns are," he said, inviting the parent and promising to share existing expectations and coordinators' roles.
Assistant Superintendent Leslie Moulton (S3) explained that 504 plans and individualized education plans are separate legal protections and described district coordinators in each building who oversee accommodations. She said the district would examine both policy and procedures governing how accommodations are communicated to teachers and staff.
Board members and staff said they would follow up with a meeting and pledged to review the relevant policy (referenced in the meeting as "05/2004") and the district's internal communication steps. The board did not vote on policy changes at the meeting; administrators said they would return with details and a recommendation at a future meeting.
Next steps: Superintendent (S1) will schedule a meeting with the parent and school staff to collect specifics and report back to the board. The board asked staff to review the policy and the building-level communication process for 504 accommodations.
