"The school corporation is not ready to make a recommendation to approve any of the bids," the administrator stated, and recommended declining the proposals to allow staff time to refine the approach and reopen procurement later. A trustee made a motion to decline the proposals; the motion carried by voice vote.
Separately, trustees received the first reading of an updated support‑staff handbook (the administration said it had not been updated since 2018) with a proposed July 1 effective date and an annual review process. The board was also briefed that lawyers are drafting multiple new administrative policies—twelve related to artificial intelligence—intended for board review in the fall and for a special AI update in July.
Trustees asked for the staff‑handbook and the results of a student menu survey to be brought back at the next meeting so the board and public can review the materials before final approvals or further procurement steps.
