Bethlehem Area School District board approves consent agenda, names new Calypso Elementary principal

The Bethlehem Area School District board unanimously approved a broad consent agenda at its May 18 meeting that included approval of prior minutes, committee minutes and grouped facilities, curriculum, finance and human-resources items.

The board approved the April and May special meeting minutes and committee minutes for facilities and finance/human resources after voice vote. Separate roll-call votes were recorded as 'Yes' for grouped facility items 11.01–11.02, curriculum items 12.01–12.11, finance items 13.01–13.15 and human-resources items 14.01–14.06; recorded tallies on the record indicated unanimous support (motions noted as carrying 8‑0 or similarly unanimous on the transcript).

During the meeting the chair also recognized newly hired teachers for the upcoming school year and announced Jennifer Cherick as the new principal at Calypso Elementary School.
